Maine Lobster should be bought the same way you would purchase in a seafood market; your order is weighed by the pound.
Buying by price per lobster (spread weight) can cost you a 20% loss in weight and a price increase of $3-5 per lb of lobster. Internet lobster offers are most often sold by weight spread for a particular size range. If the offer is for a box of 22 count Pound and a halves to Two pound lobsters between 1.5 to 2 pound lobsters; an 11 pound difference could occur at half a pound per lobster if only 1.5 lb lobsters were packed.
You could be short 11 pounds of lobster.
Our method is after packing, the true weight packed will be measured. Assurance that the ordered advertised weight is achieved is done by re-selecting lobsters until the advertised weight is met or exceeded. If it is over; the extra is on us and will not be charged.
