We never intended to sell small packs or boxes of Maine lobsters; after all we are a Maine lobster wholesaler. Actually, we never intended to sell Maine lobsters for home delivery only wholesale to wholesale buyers. But the inevitable happened when we opened our website; individuals started calling asking to buy wholesale. Our first website said "No Retail Ordering". We were not really set up to handle retail ordering or so we thought.
OK, we said great but you have to buy an entire wholesale full carton @ 30-35 Lbs. They kept calling and asked if the could have a half carton and we came up with the half carton @ about 17 Lbs. We then expanded the website to included a wholesale/retail, home delivery, "Our Lobster store". http://store.newenglandprovisions.com/
Times changed as did the technology of the internet and FedEx and we changed too. We were asked by call in customers for 8-15 Lb orders of different sizes and after some consideration; we have come up with the Maine lobster 6 Pak Program offerings. Six live, Maine lobsters to a box with four different sizes:
6 Standard Maine Lobsters @ 8.5 Lbs
6 Medium Maine Lobsters @ 10 Lbs
6 Small Select Maine Lobsters @ 11 Lbs
6 Large Select Maine Lobsters @ 15 Lbs
We hope these offerings will help you out for smaller orders. So far it is working very well. And remember we sell these Maine lobsters with the very same guarantee as our wholesale orders. And we sell them by there actual weight not by a spread size that can vary by a half a pound per lobster. Be careful when pricing between sites whether they sell by weight or size spread. It makes a big difference in cost and weight received.
