We carefully season our lobsters for 24 hours in clean purified ocean water and then pack our live Maine
lobsters in special cell packs made especially for live Maine lobster
shipping. The live Maine lobsters are packed into a styro-foam cooler
that has individual compartments for the lobster. This provides
protection from breakage.

The following are the counts and
weight of each size of lobster per carton for one full
carton. Weights have been carefully calculated by computer from thousands of shipments over several years and are very accurate. Though, they can vary by a small amount ANY DIFFERENCE IN UNDER THE ADVERTISED WEIGHT will be corrected BY REPACKING. Any over weight is on us AND WILL NOT BE CHARGED. We are often asked why Chix weigh 1.19 pounds instead of 1 pound. Well they used to weigh a pound but state law for smallest sized legal lobsters is by length of the lobster's carapace. The state made the length longer hence the weights went up to 1.19 for Chix, 1.42 for quarters and 1.65 for halves.

Cull lobsters (one claw lobsters) are
available in small 1.14 lb average to large culls of assorted weights please order by phone only. Culls are less expensive, remember they have only one claw. There is considerably more meat per pound in a larger the lobster. It is more satisfying to purchase one 2.5 Lb Select Maine Lobster than two small chicken lobsters. It's a myth that the meat is much tougher in a select Maine lobster; it's just not true.
